Weber's USA Trip 2018

Today we finally went to Las Vegas. My last visit was over 20 years back. At that time, I was proud to have won more money than lost playing the machines. I gambled away around $ 100 but won 250. I beat Las Vegas!

This time I made a smaller budget (30 dollars) which was also because the children are not allowed in the play area. Here the Americans are over-protective again. You may allow children to visit a shooting range and shoot with rifles and pistols, or go hunting for wild boar, but they must not go through the casino area with their parents. I just don't get it ....

The trip was very short and we wanted to use the ride to carry out the necessary oil change on the RV. According to the contract, the oil must be changed every 5000 miles. After a call to the service desk of the renting company Road Bear he told me the nearest office of them, where I could do that for free. So we drove there. After a brief discussion with the woman at the front desk (she said that the change would only be due after 7500 miles and they would only control the oil, which I explained her own contract to ...) the oil was changed and we used the time for a lunch. Then we drove off to the hotel circus-circus, unfortunately one of the only hotels with RV stand. The place was also kept quite simple and offered except the minimum nothing. But for two nights it was enough.

We changed quickly and then headed to the Strip, the well-known hotel mile in Vegas. We started on foot and ate on the way in the "Fashion Show Mall". After that it got dark (the most exciting time in Vegas) and we visited the "Ceasar's Palace", for me one of the best hotels in Vegas. The shopping area is designed to give you the feeling of walking through a small Italian town. The ceiling is painted as a sky and the shops look like the front of small shops. In the middle there was a (somewhat outdated) show about the sinking of Atlatnis (with water and fire).

We moved further south past famous hotels like "Bellagio", "New York, New York", "Treasure Island" or "Paris". The lights and the huge neon signs were really impressive. Although we were getting a bit tired, the kids wanted to go to the "Mandala Bay" at the end of the strip. There is a great zoo there. Unfortunately, it was already closed when we arrived. Apart from that, he would have been too expensive.

For the way back we grabbed one of the shuttle buses and sank into our beds late at night.
