Weber's USA Trip 2018
The morning began with a shock. When we went to pay the slot (since we couldn't do that the day before, arriving after office hours), they told us that our spot was actually already reserved and the camp ground completely full. So we had to continue traveling.
Since we wanted to go to Jacksonville anyway (to meet Bruno/Teri), we looked in the internet for a nice camping ground in that area. We found one in Kingsland, Georgia, directly at the border to Florida. The ratings weren't that bad and based on the internet there was a mini-golf, clean sanitary installations, a petting zoo and more. So we were happy to drive there and went off happily.
After a good 5 hours drive (including a 2 hour break to shop/eat lunch and fill the gas tank) we arrived in Kingsland, Georgie at the KOA Campground. Unfortunately reality looked a lot different than the pictures from the internet. The mini-golf lanes were covered in branches and leaves, the pool was green from algae and the petting zoo was an impertinence. A few boxes with rabbits and chickens, all not looking very happy. All in all, a minor letdown.
We decided to make the best out of it and not let it ruin our mood. We learned for the future and have to try to get more informations about a camping ground. At least we had water, power and TV and could finish the evening in a cozy way.
For saturday, we planned a relaxing day, while the kids (had to) work on the diaries and the adults planned on doing the laundry and some finanical planning. On sunday we will be off to visit Bruno and Teri on the farm.
