As planned, we got up early and got ready for departure. We said goodbye to Lisa and Jacques, fueled propane and then drove directly to the Sequoia National Park. He is best known for his giant sequoia trees. Due to road works and partly still winter conditions, we could reach only a part of the park with our RV. But at least we could go to the General Grant Tree, the 3rd largest tree in the world. But not only he, but also many other trees there were extremely large and very impressive. The detour was definitely worth it. In the parking lot we even found a purse with over $ 100 in it. Fortunately, we found the owner a little later by accident, so we did not have to bring it to the visitor center.
After a short lunch we drove back to Fresno, where we bought the most necessary items and then we continued towards Yosemite. After just over an hour we drove through the entrance, but then needed another hour to the camping ground. The ride was really great and we got a good idea of ??the area's beauty.
After arrival at the campground it was complicated again. Our place was very tight and despite the help of the neighbors, we did not get in with the RV. Only when the neighbors from the other side of the trail drove away their truck, we had enough space to reverse into the curve. Finally there!
Next we had to clear the RV. All the food (at least the open ones) and everything that smelled (toiletries, soap, perfumed garbage bags) had to be put in a special, bear-proof box, which was available at every seat. There were really very strict regulations and of course we uphold to them (also for our own security).
So we went to sleep very early after dinner (subway). The next day we wanted to go out at sunrise to watch some animals.
