Weber's USA Trip 2018
Off to Texas! We were thrilled to enter a new state... and then a bit disappointed. First of all, Texas looked exactly like Louisiana. And we drove the whole day without seeing a single cowboy or at least a tumbleweed. At least we saw some cattle and a few huge and beautiful farms. But of course the reason for all that is that Texas is such a huge state and of course it doesn't look like it's presented in TV and movies all over.
We made good progress and arrived at the camping ground without any problems. And the place was incredible. It's not a private one (like the ones from KOA we often select), but it's run by the "US Army Corps of Engineering". It's very cheap (30 dollars a night), but only offers water and power. There is no WiFi, no sewage and no cable TV. Also there are almost no amenities. The sanitary installations are worn down and it only offers a small playground for the kids. But the view!!! Directly next to a lake with huge areas between the slots. Besides an interstate you can hear sometimes there is only nature and when you sit in the sun next to the RV and overlook the water, it can't get much better.
The kids bought themself some little Monster-Truck-Cars and with them we went to the playground to play for a bit. There they could stretch their legs and the day ended very nicely and content. We were sure to like it here the coming days.
