Weber's USA Trip 2018
The relaxing day after the nerve wracking drive the day before was very much welcomed. It payed off to have a one day break between the travel days. After breakfast we worked a bit on the diaries and took advantage of the shadow to heal the sunburn a bit more we got in Panama City Beach.
Directly next to the RV was a big pool who looked very inviting, especially to the kids. So we headed off to the shaded area next to it while the children jumped into the clear water. While they played we got welcomed by a group of the local campers very warmly. The people enjoyed meeting "newbies" and were truly nice and open-hearted towards us. We talked with a lot of them and got great tips. It's really amazing how friendly and welcoming the residents of the campgrounds are. Untill now we haven't had a single bad experience.
To not stay too long in the sun we ordered a "shadow break" for the kids. After that we wanted to go and explore the beach, who was right at the other side of the road. Unfortunately the water was very rough and the stone-beach not really clean. It wasn't really inviting to stay there, so we went back to the pool and played some games in the shadowy area.
In the evening we prepared the camper for the next day, as we wanted to leave pretty early. All-in-all it was a great, relaxing day in Alabama. Unfortunately the night was short again, as in the middle of it suddenly some dogs in the neighbourhood started to bark. And they barked for hours :( We seem to be cursed...
