Weber's USA Trip 2018

On to Bryce Canyon! We got up relatively early and took the RV to the entrance. And already the ride was surprising. Because suddenly half a dozen antelopes (?) ran across the street in front of our RV. Only an emergency stop saved us from a collision. Luckily, nothing broke and so, with beating hearts, we drove on to Bryce Canyon.

The park seems to be very busy in high season, with dozens of souvenir shops, restaurants and motels in front of the entrance. But many of them were still closed.

We parked in the canyon then at the "Sunset Point" and went on a circular walk, which should lead us through a part of the park. The view of the stone pillars was terrific and since we were early, it did not have too many visitors. So we could really enjoy the beauty of the area. Unfortunately, we learned only very down in the canyon that the way back is currently blocked. So we had to go back the same way, which of course was not that exciting. Nevertheless, it was worth it.

Next, we drove to the very end of the park and made a second circular walk there. This was also completely open, although partially covered with snow. It was also exciting that it seems that it burned there recently. In the National Parks but a natural process. There was even a sign that the fire is known and one should not report it.

Before we finished the day, we stopped at the souvenir shops. And there we saw it... You could dress up as cowboys and get a picture taken. It was clear we had to do that. And it was a blast (see below) :)))

On the way back to the RV campground we made some photo stops and for dinner there were sausages over the fire and for dessert "s'mores". Tasty, but also sticky :)
