After a restless night at Village Creek, we got on the move by 8:30 to go to Ahler’s Ranch in Kentucky. Why was it restless, you ask? Because in the wee hours of the morning, I thought I heard an idling vehicle.
I got up to go to the window to see and woke Dan up by crawling over top of his feet to get out of the bed. That is one thing I really hate about this camper, I can’t make the bed or get out of bed. The bed is down on the floor level but is in a corner that has a cupboard jutting out over my side of the bed and a mattress on Dan’s side that has the corner cut diagonal so you can get into the bathroom door and is also at a diagonal.
In the end it was nothing. We were both awake and couldn’t get back to sleep. Dan finally did and promptly started snoring, until I woke him up to tell him to roll over. So it was a restless night.
We drove for 8 hours and ended up at the place for the night. The horses were delighted because they had a huge paddock to themselves. They both ran, bucked, kicked and rolled for ten minutes or so. This is the most room they have had since January to act like regular horses.
We met the owners of the Ahler’s Ranch. It isn’t a ranch, but just a barn with some horse stalls and some large paddocks outside. We had stayed in the Tack Room apartment in January and it is very nice. But the weather is much warmer and we are able to stay in the motorhome this time. The owners are the nicest people. This is the fourth time we have stayed here, and we had never met them before.
Tomorrow will be our last day of driving. We are hoping for good weather and a safe trip.
God will bless,
Pam
