Out West Wanderings II

Today we took the horses to a vet for their Health Certificates. Both passed and now we will be legal to travel between states on our way home. After lunch Dan started feeling unwell. The hiccups plagued him for a couple hours. He spent the rest of the day in bed. It is stomach issues and I hope he feels like riding tomorrow. Our days are numbered now as we approach our departure date of the 11th.

Since it was a dreary, cloudy day, I decided to work on art while Dan recovered. I tried to finish up the watercolor landscape I had started, but I am not happy with it. I kept fooling around with it until I decided I should do something more fun.

I don't know what it is about animals, but I am much more comfortable painting them than landscapes. Once again I am doing a feline. This time a tiger. I sketched it out and then did the pan pastel blocking in. Next, I worked on the nose detail. Then, I did an eye. Eyes are the most fun of all, as they look right at you while you create them. I am very pleased with what I got done today.

Check back tomorrow to see if I have another solo ride, or if Dan is feeling good enough to ride. If not, check back on the progress on the tiger.

Blessings,
Pam
