Out West Wanderings II

It had rained last night and looked gloomy. But the horses were both well and ready to go. We were able to get going by 9:00 and arrived at Caprock Canyon 7 hours later.

We were wise and when we stopped for lunch, we got the horses out, watered them and gave Pearl her Aloe Vera juice, Ulcergard and Outlast supplement. Looking behind us as we pulled out, I could see a storm was coming. And it rained and was foggy the whole drive to Texas. Jax didn’t mind because he wore his raincoat.

We arrived at the park after closing hours. I thought we were on time, but I forgot about the time change. It was an hour later than our watches said. There was a self-pay box at the entry and we found a nice spot in the Wild Horse campground. There was one other horse trailer there from Florida.

We put the horses blankets on them, got them watered and fed, then hunkered down in our motorhome. I worked a little on the water color kitty. It is windy, foggy and cold here. I was

Caprock Canyon

hoping that we could take a day and ride. And we will if the day is warm and bright. If not, we are off to Oklahoma and Robber’s Cave.
