Out West Wanderings II

Lazy Sue Ranch was the name of the place we spent the night. It was a very nice place and the only one where the owners cleaned out our horse trailer and filled the water buckets for the horses!

Sue is anything but lazy and she felt bad because we arrived and she had gone to Walmart. The thing is, she had no way to know we were coming since we hadn't called ahead. She gave us a discount, anyway.

She also recommended The Adobe Diner for supper and that we should split a plate. We found a compound of buildings and one said "Enter Here". There was no sign at the road or anything. So we went in around the corner of an old windmill and there was the sign for The Adobe Diner.

It wasn't adobe and it wasn't a deli, rather it was housed in a rather

derelict looking building that we could see the sky through some of the walls and it was like walking into a time machine. There were stuffed animals of every kind in the rooms, old armor, cash register, safe and other odd combinations of things.

It was rumored that Sylvester Stallone had eaten there and that the place was haunted. :-) I am not sure that I believe either, but it was a fun place to have dinner. Which was, by the way magnificent. Sue had told us to order one dinner and split it. She was right. The steak was huge! We shared French onion soup with the chewiest cheese and a loaded baked potato. I had cheese cake with strawberry topping for dessert and Dan had fried ice cream.

In the morning we will head to Tuscan and Catalina State Park. We will be there for two weeks so we can settle in and not have to move. I plan on riding horse, taking photos and painting as much as I can.

God is good!
Pam
