Happy February! The month Mom was born on Ground Hog's day and the month my husband, Dan, has his birthday. And....the month we change locations in Arizona.
This morning Dan took off Blaze's shoes. He only has them on the front and they had grown out enough to need them reset. Dan learned to shoe horses to save money years ago. Boy am I glad he did. The average cost for trimming and putting on 4 keg shoes is around $120 and you have to have them reset every 6 weeks or so.
Blaze has resisted having his hind shoes put on. We are working with him trying to desensitize him to pounding on his soles. He is a timid horse and it scares him. But he is fine with the front feet and so that is what we got done.
After packing up the trailer and camper, we headed to Walmart to stock up on groceries. Since we have never been to Horspitality RV Resort, we aren't sure how close a store will be.
We are heading to Wickenburg. We visited the town last year and stayed at the Constellation park camping area which is primitive. This will be the first time that we have had an extended stay at a place with hookups for water, electric and sewer. We are planning on two weeks stay and will be meeting up with Jan, a classmate of ours, and my cousin John and his wife, Sandy. We are doing less visiting this year and staying longer in each place to ride more and drive less.
I will be taking pictures and writing about Horspitality in tomorrow's blog. We hope to get in a good ride, too!
Blessings on you and your family, Pam
