We had the horses fed, watered and ready to go by 9:00. The day looked extremely dreary and by the time late afternoon came, we were in fog again.
Dan had made a wrong turn somewhere on a back road town crossroads and we couldn’t find a place to turn around and go back. So we went on and it worked out OK. We ended up getting on the road that we wanted. Then there was a toll booth and no attendant. We shelled out the toll in quarters and went on. Then it was time to exit and another toll, but this one had an attendant.
We didn’t know there were tolls when we got on yet another road and came to an unmanned booth. We only had a quarter left and it would not take bills or credit cards. So, we drove through without paying.
Friends on Facebook gave advice about what to do. One said a bill would come in the mail, one said there was an online site that I could access, still another said to call them.
I did try to call, right at the toll booth. I looked up the Oklahoma site and found that I could mail the check to them. So that is what I will do.
We arrived at Robber’s Cave State

Robber's Cave, Oklahoma
We had the horses fed, watered and ready to go by 9:00. The day looked extremely dreary and by the time late afternoon came, we were in fog again.

We arrived at Robber’s Cave State
Park around 5:30. The website said that they were open until 8:00, so we made it in plenty of time. The trouble was that there was so place to pay and the sign at the Equestrian camping said you had to register online. Of course, there was no service here, so how are you supposed to know to do that?
We pulled in and found a place to park. Most of the horse sites were filled with regular campers and tents and no horses. We have found that a lot of the state parks allow regular campers in the horse spots. I was just glad that there was someplace for us.
The site has electric and water and the horses are in pipe corrals directly behind us. We took a walk over to a charming little building. The foundation was made of original rocks from the area and the stone walk in the patio section had fossils in all of the stones. It was neat.
So tomorrow, before we leave the park, we have to find the Registration building and pay. Or maybe they will find us first!
Blessings, Pam
