Out West Wanderings II

We woke to 40 degree, see your breath weather. The skies are clear and will be for at least another 9 days according to the Tucson station. It will get up to the high 60's and low 70's.

A lot of the horsemen have left and there are two covered stalls available, so we moved our horses. The advantage is we no longer have to fill hay bags and hang them from their pipe stall. There are mangers so we can just throw the hay in them. Also, they have a roof over them so they can get out of the sun and it is drier. They tend to go away from where they sleep to do their business.

It has been a week since we left Corry, PA and it is time to do the routine chores that all campers have to do. We need groceries, propane, horse feed, horse hay, a prescription, and we need to do laundry. I hate these days because it takes about four hours total with the drive to where the stores are.

I did the laundry while Dan did the hay, grain and propane. We both finished at about the same time. Since it was lunchtime, we ate in the motor home. We had left the horse trailer and horses at camp, which makes it so much easier to park.

Dan stayed in the camper while I did the Walmart shopping. Then we went to the pharmacy and filled his prescription. By the time we got back to the horse camp neither of us felt like riding. A nap was needed. :-) Even though it seemed like a wasted day, the scenery on the drive was still thrilling.

After we got back to camp, I met a lady named Jennifer who had a beautiful Gypsy Vanner gelding. He is black and white and is built like a work horse. He was born in Great Britain and somehow ended up with her. We are going to meet and ride on Monday. She is a local and knows the trails well.
Blessings on all.
Pam
