Out West Wanderings II

We are heading out really early this morning because of the time change. It is only 4:30 in Arkansas, but we are awake. Yesterday's trip ended up lasting 9 hours. We had a good night's sleep and were on the road early.

Some of you following this blog probably think of it as a perfect vacation, but you know there are problems with any trip. Here are just a few we have encountered so far:

-Pearl was able to get a whole bale of hay from behind her and open it up spreading it all over the trailer floor.

-I forgot the soy sauce and honey, so my Healthy Orange Chicken recipe for supper had modifications.

-We used the bath house only to find most of the hooks and shower heads vandalized, making the water spray all over getting towels, shoes etc wet.

-I spilled 1/3 of a bottle of Pine Sol on the carpet by mistake.

-There was only one dishrag in the camper (who forgot to pack more?) and it now smells like pine.

-Even though Dan rinsed out the tanks after the antifreeze was drained, the water is pink and still smells like anitfreeze.

None of these are life and death problems and we are still smiling and headed to Oklahoma with clear skies. Google Maps says we should arrive at Platter Flats Equestrian Camp at 1:30 Central time, which would be 2:30 our time plus an extra hour and a half for stops etc.

This is a new destination for us, since I decided to go a more southern route this year. Platter Flats is part of the Lake Texoma recreation area. There are 35 equestrian sites with hookups, a shower house and drinking water.

Can't wait to get there. Blessings on all of you. Pam
