Out West Wanderings II

Yesterday afternoon a nice couple came over to the camper and said they were leaving late in the day and wanted to know if we wanted their corrals. That was very nice of them. We moved our horses in just as they were taking theirs out. And they are the nice stalls that are partially covered, so when it rains the horses won't get wet. Pearl and Blaze are so much more comfortable with room to roll.

This morning we went to LifePoint church just down the road from Catalina State Park. This is the third time we have gone there in the last couple years. The pastor is very good and always uses object lessons. He has a sense of humor and does a great job with the message. Their praise band has always had different musicians each time we have attended except for the keyboard player who is the Worship Leader.

After church we went to Jerry Bob's, a small restaurant. We had eaten there once before and enjoyed it. Hometown food and a nice atmosphere.

After a nap, I decided to do a solo

Catalina State Park

After a nap, I decided to do a solo

ride. I chose a trail I had not done before. It seemed really good at first, clear of rocks and sandy, but it quickly turned rocky and rough. The cacti were so close that I got into them twice. Over all it was a nice enough ride. We went 2.74 miles in 51 minutes.

We had tried a calming ointment the vet gave us that we put into Pearl's nostrils. You have to do it a half hour before a stressful situation and we figured that Blaze going away would be a good trial. We couldn't see that it made any difference. She whinnied a lot and was prancing around in her pen. Dan wants to try it again when we are riding with other horses.

Tomorrow we have to take the horses to another vet to get their travel papers (health certificates). We have them but they expire in three days. Health certificates are only good for 30 days. This set will last

us until we get back to Pennsylvania.

So another beautiful day in Arizona has ended.
God bless you on this Sunday,
Pam
