Week 26 - Cool Birthday

Sunday, & we are still working hard to get the house together. Nice reprieve was a visit to the gym for a pilates class. Oh, the memories of my previous life! How I miss it.
The Sydney clock ticked passed midnight so it was ok to have a birthday celebration complete with cake on Monday. Thanks Rob & Caroline, it will be a birthday with a difference.
Happy too to trade the forecast of 10°c instead of Sydney at 42°c.
I made sure we kept the hire car for my birthday so I could enjoy a day out & dinner would be more than beans on toast (the level of Jon's expertise).
The plan was to be on the road at 9.30, long lunch, history of interest. Reality became leave at 11am, ditch the long lunch in favour of getting through my itinerary before it gets dark. We had to move the boat before we left after discovering we had been on battery power all week. Something has blown on the electricity pole which has cut our shoreline electricity. Doh!
Off to Ludlow to see the castle graced by many of note during the Wars of the Roses. 11 year old Prince Edward heir to the throne after the death of his father King Edward

IV lived here. Never made his coronation, murdered in the Tower of London along with his younger brother. Medieval Game of Thrones. The wars went on for 3 decades.
Prince Arthur died here too. Brother Henry took the throne along with his brothers wife, Katherine of Aragon to become Henry VIII.
Just enough time to squeeze in Battlefield 1403 between the two Henrys. That is King Henry IV & Henry Percy. If the king had paid his debts, the battle could have been avoided.
