Watt Knot Travels

I am pleased to say I will not bore you this week. We have been on the move since starting the week with a Christmas dinner celebration at the marina with fellow boaters.
We hired a car, escaped the compound & headed south. Said hi to Rob & Caroline (Ortomarine) enroute & roosted in Swindon again. This time it was turn for southern cousins to put up with us.
Come Thursday I'm on the train with my friend Janine into London. I have already given you my sentiments about the rail system, but I did like the trains. They were sleek & fast with USB ports. You even get an allocated seat when you book. Impressed til the home journey when that all fell apart. The 11.30pm last train out of Paddington was not going anywhere. The rail staff finally gave up trying to get the train going & offloaded the whole 10 carriage train onto another one. It then became a free for all. The train was going so slow, it took forever to get to Reading & I had to keep revising our ETA for pickup.

It was 2am before I flopped into bed. I was wasted the next day. But wait, the reason I was in London was to attend the O2 Ultimate Christmas Party. Janine had bid for tickets & got them. None of the performers jumped out at me except Rick Astley. Now, I'm showing my age here because there was positively one act (Sister Bliss) that made me want to vomit. Bliss, it was not. In fact I felt like I was going to have a heart attack. The base pulse of the music resonated throughout my body thumping at my heart. Even my clothes were vibrating. "Make her stop Janine", but that fell on deaf ears. That's not music, that's a health hazard! I now need therapy.
It was a great, but long day out, with the sights & lights of Oxford St.
Thanks to all my cousins for indulging me.
