Watt Knot Travels

The star of the week goes to my cousin Jake. 1st cousin 2x removed to be precise. We were fortunate enough to be in Barrow on the weekend of his christening & were able to attend. Love family gatherings. Need to get working on that family tree again. I thought I would have heaps of spare time to work on my tree. To date it's been a big fat zero.
Another wet & windy week spent clutching a box of tissues as I sniffed & coughed through it. First cold in a long time.
It's fairly quiet in the marina. There are permanent residents & winter moorers like us living here that would make up half of the boat owners.
The Club House is the main social meeting place other than if you have a dog & meet up with other dog owners on the grounds. A few cats live here, but this is definitely dog territory. I have volunteered to be dog walker, & am waiting for my first customer. There's Brian with his beagle Daisy who lives on NB Beagle, & Fitz who lives next door with his owner Pat.
Bumped into Mary being escorted into the clubhouse. Mary is a Pontypandy Bus

regular & I was surprised to see her here with Helen from NB Bigger Decisions. Seems friendships are formed on the bus. Helen & Ray are regular winter moorers to Tattenhall & have adopted grannies from the bus. Mary & Doreen were coming for lunch, so I joined them for a chat & learned more about village life. When Helen & Ray are cruising the country, they send postcards to the girls. What a lovely idea.
A response from last weeks news was that you are not famous until your boat reputation goes before you. I was surprised when meeting the new marina manager this week that he referred to us as the electric boat & said he had read all about us. Did we pass?
A pretty lame week I'm afraid due to the weather & health. Life will be a bit hit & miss until we can get out cruising again. Highlights of the week; our first 50hr oil change service, & riding the deadly treadlies into the village. Whoop-de-do!
