Watt Knot Travels

Sunday & Monday we are still welcoming visitors to our boat. The pace did not slack off. Poor Brian spun a yarn to get into the show as I had his ticket & he could not raise me on the mobile, (no signal). He was kindly delivered by security who promptly let him go when the ticket was produced. Well that plan was a dismal failure. Our success though was in the attention Watt Knot attracted & the promotion of Ortomarine. Big tick, as we achieved what we set out to do & were delighted with 3rd place in "Favourite Narrowboat in Show". If we had a stained glass window, maybe we would have got a higher placing akin to 1st & 2nd place.
The whole clean up starts the minute the show closes. It is a frenzy of dismantle, pack up & get the hell out of here. By Tuesday morning there was but a remnant of what had gone on over the weekend. We filled up with water, charged up the batteries with free electricity, & departed back up to Yelvertoft to recover, & take in what had just happened. Time to hand the baton over to the next Ortomarine boat.

Watt Knot has been in 3 magazines & featured on YouTube. Surely we have had our share of the limelight & ready to return to normality.
Boaters are still giving us warming comments as we make our way back through Braunston. Coming down the locks was a super breeze. We doubled with Bob & Maria on their maiden voyage on Dragonfly. Turns out Bob is the older brother to Rich (Floating our Boat). What a delight! We killed it as all the hire boats were coming up the flight as we were descending. Each lock gate was open ready for us. Well that doesn't happen often or not at all. Tunnel & 6 locks in 1.5 hours.
