Watt Knot Travels

Sunday started with hail, rain & wind as we continued north to the end of the Trent & Mersey. Travel came to a screeching halt at 2pm to watch the Australian Grand Prix from which we didn't get going again. Dutton was such a nice spot overlooking a valley with the viaduct in the distance & the River Weaver in view.
We were getting low on milk so decided to go to Runcorn to get some. 7 hours there & back, not a bad for a milk run. It's all about the journey I'm told. Now onto the Bridgewater Canal through the Preston Brook tunnel. Our longest tunnel yet at 1133 metres which took 11 minutes of darkness & dripping water. Nice arm of the canal for the kingfishers darting ahead of us, but not for the rubbish lining the canal as we moved further into built up areas. Such a shame that people have this attitude, but I am sure there are worse canals to come.
Wednesday was a surprisingly bright sunny day which we just had to make the most of. Washing line went up for the first time this year & I

tended my herb garden as we moored for most of the day chillin' out. Come Thursday we had made it back to Middlewich ready to move forward onto new territory, but first must get a hair appointment. Do you know what a pain that is? You can't get a hair colour without an allergy test which takes 48 hours. Only then can you get an appointment. That's 3 days in total. Still it must be done. Not giving that away anytime soon. Still trying to keep up appearances Ha!
News then came through that the River Weaver was again open. Dilemma, do we turn around or keep going? Turn the boat around we are on our way AGAIN! Only 3 hours away.
