No I haven't murdered Jon (yet), it was Christina Collins who met her death at Rugeley by the hands of the boatmen who were supposed to give her safe passage to London to meet her husband. It was 1839, & her lifeless body was discovered in the canal after the cabin boy onboard alerted authorities. Of the boatmen responsible, two were hanged & one was transported. Twice Christina reported her fears for her safety, but no-one helped. Reluctantly, she returned to the boat, as the stagecoach was full. A statue in her memory can be found at Stone at bridge 94.
We had a lovely Easter moored up in the countryside with new neighbours Mr & Mrs Duck & their 7 ducklings. They were delighted to come share breakfast with us each morning. Busy boating time with lots of hire boats out. The sun shone, shirts off, beer bellies on display as the parade of boats passed.
Rob & Caroline visited for a check up. The reason why is we are taking the boat to the Crick Boat Show this year to be exhibited. Watt
