Watt Knot Travels

New Years Eve in London & I am attending my very first pantomine, a great British tradition. Mainly for the children, but adult humour carefully inserted. Very cleverly done. I found Peter Pan amusing & a joy to attend. Oh yes I did! Thanks to Violet, Jim, Ange & Ken for inviting us.
Yes, we have moved on to London to catch up with more cousins. We have done several trips previously here, so it wasn't a race to cram all of the major attractions in. Though I wish I could spend serious time here & immerse myself in this city dripping in history. I like the odd & quirky stuff.
I picked Hampton Court Palace for a visit. Home to King Henry VIII, kindly given to him by Cardinal Wolsey in a desperate bid to keep on the kings good side. Well that failed when he could not get the Catholic Church to grant a divorce from Katherine of Aragon to marry Anne Boelyn. Charged with treason, died in custody. The palace is vast, as are the gardens. I was amazed to find out that it takes 10 years to clean one of the massive tapestries hanging in the hall.

is on the front cover with a very complementary article on our boat. We cleaned out WHS at Paddington station of their copies.
Moving back up the country to Worcester to have a personal tour of the city thanks to Rob & Caroline. King John lies in Worcester Cathedral. Only a few days ago we were at Runnymeade where he put his seal on the Magna Carta. We often find we stumble upon connecting history.
It was by sitting in Pizza Express that we found out Ian Fleming (James Bond author) was buried just outside Swindon.
