Watt Knot Travels

It's Tuesday morning, raining & time to leave the Marina. This is it, no return. My stomach is on "spin cycle". We're cruising the cut. Out of the Marina, turn right. Four locks, one tunnel, three swing bridges, 1.6km travelled. Two hours on a narrowboat. I could've walked it in 20 mins. I need to be reminded it's all about the journey.
Our electric bikes fair a bit better as we cycled along the towpath & out along the country roads to Hanbury Hall. Amazingly good at zipping up hills. Just helps us to travel further in a reasonable time without exhaustion.

We moored up in the countryside prior to entering the River Severn. What a perfect afternoon with the sun shining behind the swaying trees. The birds of prey dancing in the skies as I afforded myself the luxury of making myself cosy with a book. If everyday was like this, I've made it!

Our trip up the Severn to Stourport took 5 hours. The locks on the river were a joy because I sat back & let the lock keeper press a button to let us through. Back on duty though coming into the Stourport Basin. I found an angel there, a fellow boater Tony who must've been thinking I was in need of instruction & help. Tony even hopped on board & navigated us through the basin to the pump out.
Yay, our first pump out for Cookie Monster. I call our toilet such as he makes a growling noise when flushed. Seems like an easy operation as I didn't have to do it. Think we made the right choice in toilets.

It was such a nice day on Saturday that I volunteered us to walk along the Severn to Bewdley. We were unaware that this weekend was the Bewdley Heritage Festival. Had a crash course in bell ringing at St Annes Church. When all the bells were chiming the tower actually shook which is a bit unnerving when you are standing at the top of the tower. Another tick on the bucket list.
To finish off the week we had a delightful evening out with our new besties Rob & Caroline. A real earthy pub with head banging live music. It was a lot of fun & giggles.
