Watt Knot Travels

Warwick Castle was what we were here for. One of my favourite castles nestled against the river Avon. So pretty. My romantic view of the castle was a little tainted when they mentioned that the moat was never filled with water. It was used as a sewer & rubbish tip! The town itself has a medieval look & feel to it. Really liked Warwick.
All week the Hatton Flight (known as the Stairway to Heaven) has loomed in my thoughts. 21 locks in one day would be a new record for me. But it rained & rained this week, & we kept delaying our exit out of Warwick. By that time, the obstacle in front of me became all consuming & it felt like the night before going over the top in the trenches. Trepidation & uncertainty of the task ahead. Would it conquer me? Maybe I could be Rocky & just run up those steps in triumph? Family were coming, we had to move. We had arranged to meet them at the top lock. If timing was right, Ian would help me through the second half of the locks. It was all over red rover while brother was still having a coffee in Oxford! My angel lockies had descended, & assisted our passage to heaven in 3.25 hrs.
We got a short cruise without rain to the pub & moor up for the night.
Why was Sharon crouched down at the stern with a plastic bag on her head? Birthdays this week for Sharon & Jon.
