We had a surprisingly festive 4th of July! Blythe, Rose and I did our best to put on patriotic outfits. We attempted to make red, white & blue slushies. It took a bit of creativity to pull this off & in the end the colors didn’t hold, but we all enjoyed a cold treat on a hot day! We biked out to Skully’s (our favorite beachside pool). It’s owned by Americans so they were hosting a party. They had live music, a bbq &, of course, a food eating contest. We left before the fireworks since we were on our bikes & it gets dark by 7:30. Fortunately we could still see them from the beach in front of our house! We found an old abandoned refrigerator to sit on & we played the national anthem on my phone while we watched the fireworks across the water. It ended up being the perfect way to see the show & a great ending to a memorable 4th.
