Panama

The kids have settled well into the school routine and we’ve filled our free time with lots of beach and pool visits, several birthday parties, and hanging with friends. We celebrated Walker’s buddy, Quentin’s, 12th birthday at the escape room. The kids did it by themselves while the parents enjoyed happy hour next door! The girls have been doing swim lessons after school which we all enjoy going to and jumping in the pool to cool down! Walker tried another surf lesson and has been playing soccer with friends. Its’s hard to believe we’ve been here for 3 months already and have just 3 months left till we leave. We are all excited for the rest of our adventure, but it will certainly be hard to say goodbye to our friends and our life here.

Rose had us all laughing when she was sucking her thumb and our friend, Aaron, asked her what her thumb tasted like. Without missing a beat she replied, “Chardonnay!”. Rose always keeps us on our toes and smiling :). Our best buddies, the McFaddens (Aaron, Sam, Quentin, Camryn & Beau) are renting a car so the 10 of us have had some fun adventures squeezing into their 5 passenger car! We usually have at least a few kids in the trunk which they love. Walker has coined the phrase “there’s no rules in Panama!” which the kids yell out whenever we are driving around town. Blythe had been asking for a play date with her friends from school so we had a few families over one weekend. Blythe intently planned, cleaned and organized in preparation for the big event! We all had a great time and especially enjoyed getting to know the other parents. Walker had a class on bike maintenance at school and has been using his new skills to keep all our bikes clean and running smoothly! Dennis has been busy diving and learning guitar. I got to sneak away for a day long yoga retreat at La Loma lodge with a few friends. What a beautiful place!
