Saying goodbye

Our last few days were busy with cleaning and packing, but also lots of time with friends too. Monday evening, Walker commented that we had never gone to the skate park, so we jumped on our bikes and headed that way! Dennis captured some beautiful pictures of the kids over the water and we all had the best time running and sliding around at the skatepark. Seeing everyone’s excitement and laughter as the sun was setting and the waves were crashing in the distance filled me so much joy. Our friends came over on Tuesday for a final playdate in our yard. We’ll miss the afterschool chaos and fun of having our yard filled with kids. For dinner we headed to the pizza place we ate at on our first night in Bocas. We reminisced on our favorite and hardest parts of life in Bocas. It hasn’t all been fun & easy, but we all agree it’s been worth it.

We woke up Wednesday morning, the kids’ last day of school, to a massive rainstorm, similar to what we had the first day of school. The rain didn’t stop all day. By the time we picked them up the roads were completely flooded. Our friends braved the weather and all met us at the hotel we were staying at for our last night to say goodbye. We have created the best little community here. Together our days have been filled with adventure, laughter and love. While it is hard to say goodbye to Panama, the hardest part is saying goodbye to our friends. We are so grateful for these last 6 months as we have all grown in countless ways. We are especially proud of our kids for jumping right into this adventure with us. What a gift it has been!
