The Tuesday after Thanksgiving was a national holiday, so no school for the kids. That morning Panama’s Supreme Court ruled the mining contract unconstitional. Protests immediately stopped and roads opened. Everyone was celebrating! I had spent a few months organizing a kids mosaic workshop for this school holiday. It was pouring down rain but the kids hopped into a water taxi without complaint as we headed to the restaurant on a neighboring island. About 20 kids came and they all made Christmas ornaments. It was a full day event in a pretty intense rain storm but everyone had a great time! On Thursday the Kindergarten class put on a traditional Panamanian dance performance. It was so precious. Blythe was beaming! I’m so glad she got to be part of this before we left!
