After exploring the Mekong delta for a day, uncle Dave and I experienced a night on the town in Saigon, starting with some delicious juicy snails for dinner whilst admiring the beauty that is lady boy's. We found the most incredible pub singers and enjoyed their music, perched on tiny stools at tiny tables (a sign of a decent establishment). I don't think any of us were happy about the early morning which was to follow but a large bowl of Pho for breakfast sorted us right out before we boarded onto a sleeper bus at 9 in the morning...this was the most comfortable, relaxing bus journey any of us have been on. I mean, it makes perfect sense to spend the day on a sleeper bus, right..? AND they were single beds this time, praise the Lord. As soon as we'd arrived in Bao Loc, we headed out towards Dambri Falls, expecting to see a beautiful natural waterfall. Yes, this is what we saw but only after being shoved onto a roller coaster and pushed off down the hill, spending 20minutes gliding

Yes, this is what we saw but only after being shoved onto a roller coaster and pushed off down the hill, spending 20minutes gliding
down rusty tracks through the forest in the middle of nowhere with no one around....how the flip we were going to get back up to the top was a completely different question all together. During our stay in Bao Loc, we saw 0 other white people so dinner was no different as we found a small local restaurant that served up an array of meats, accompanied by staring locals, more tiny chairs and tables and trashy dub step music featuring jingle bells - just a standard Vietnamese tea time really. Our breakfast the following morning was a very similar set up regarding the staring locals and array of meat. As we waited patiently for our Pho, I looked across the table to see the lady opposite munching on a huge pigs ear and another lady with some kind of meaty balls resembling eyeballs floating above her noodles...so yes, I was getting slightly nervous at this point. A dish arrived in front of me and as I looked into the depths of it, I could make out 2 different styles of meaty balls, a liver-looking slice, and a huge bone with a couple of mouthfuls of pork attached to it. It's safe to say that it wasn't my standard bowl of breakfast anyway...
