For a couple of days, I was left to my own devices as Uncle Dave and Auntie Tracey headed up into the mountains and I stayed by the beach. My hostel in Nah Trang had an hour of free tea followed by an hour of free beer and I payed about £2.50 a night so I was in my element, relaxing on the beach for a day as well. From Nah Trang to Qui Nhon, I was super excited to be swapping the bus for a train as I had heard the views were incredible along the coast but was disappointed when just after getting comfortable, the locals simultaneously closed all the curtains, blocking out all signs of beautiful views...that was me asleep for the next 3 hours anyway. My evening in Qui Nhon was spent with a group from my hostel, exploring the so called "nightlife" of the town. This involved making a trip to 'Royal club' where we discovered that clubbing for Vietnamese is not quite the same as it is for us, meaning they do not actually participate in dancing...their faces as they observed white people actually enjoying themselves in a club was absolutely priceless though. The next morning, I was reunited with D&T as they too expressed their love for Asian supermarkets, making a trip to 'Co-op' (would you believe it?!). Dinner was, yet again, an interesting one when we arrived at a restaurant serving up nothing but duck. After a difficult google translate conversation and being told that there was no roast duck left, we were soon munching on boiled duck as the tables surrounding us were being served roast....doesn't quite add up to me...
