Phong Nha, Vietnam

My next stop after Huè was Phong Nha, home to Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. I spent an incredibly sunny day on a scooter exploring the park and it's caves, as well as admiring some of the most beautiful views I've seen. I already had little faith in my scooter as it moved by itself when "stationary" so I wasn't too surprised when it broke down in the middle of no where! With no phone and no one around, I just had to persevere with starting the engine and after being joined by 2 more English speakers, it perked up and finally started! It was only a matter of time before it would break down for the second time at a bar, but I wasn't so concerned about that funnily enough! After getting very little sleep on my first night, I treated myself to a private room for the second but just my luck, ended up passing out on the bathroom floor all alone due to what I suspect was food poisoning....at this point though, I was more

concerned by the state of the bathroom floor that I'd just collapsed onto rather than what may have caused it. I spent the rest of my time in Phong Nha sleeping in bed, sleeping by the pool and generally feeling sorry for myself.
