The one where Oasis perform live

So, after an incredible fortnight in Borneo sharing many experiences and many laughs with my big sister and her 2 lovely friends, we have now all gone our separate ways. I have just left Ella at the airport and am currently sat on a plane heading back for mainland Malaysia where I will travel alone for one more week! It was quite the emotional goodbye considering we'll be seeing each other again in 8 days. The leg room on this flight is minimal meaning that the larger lady next to me has to actually keep her legs in a straddle position as she sits which is quite the sight, not to mention the struggles we face when she requires the toilet....I think I might find it a tad difficult going back to dirt cheap hostels after spending the last 3 nights in a very posh private apartment with a rooftop infinity pool....we just couldn't say no at a tenner each per night (I've stayed in crooked bug infested shacks for that price!). between swimming and sunbathing, we made a couple of day trips to the surrounding islands to do, well, some swimming and sunbathing. As we waited for our return boat from Sapi Island, we watched storm clouds and lightning approaching across the sea. Now, I'm not normally scared of lightning but when somebody suggests getting in a boat and heading onto the sea after witnessing forks of lightning every 3 minutes, funnily enough, I wasn't too keen. (The boat ride was bad enough the day before in perfect conditions). Luckily, we were reassured by a lifeguard that "only 1 boat had been struck in the last 4 days".....We disembarked the speedboat back in Kota Kinabalu absolutely soaked to the bone, but at least we had managed to avoid being sizzled to the bone by lightning. Being our last evening all together, last night we treated ourselves to a few beers by the waterfront. Before we knew it, all 4 of us were up on a stage performing karaoke to "don't look back in anger" to quite the crowd of Malaysians but what can I say, it got us some free drinks! Straight from the bar to the airport at 3 in the morning is the way forward.
