A monster day....nearly 30 kilos. The group marches on .... and ends with a 5 kilo river walk with the trees in all their fall glory.
Burgos' magnificent gothic cathedral rises in the distance as we made our way to this lovely city, home to one of the most magnificent examples of Gothic architecture in all of Spain and the final resting place of Spain's great epic hero, El Cid, whose tomb can be found beneath the towering copula. Our hotel is across the plaza from the cathedral.

A monster day....nearly 30 kilos. The group marches on .... and ends with a 5 kilo river walk with the trees in all their fall glory.
Burgos' magnificent gothic cathedral rises in the distance as we made our way to this lovely city, home to one of the most magnificent examples of Gothic architecture in all of Spain and the final resting place of Spain's great epic hero, El Cid, whose tomb can be found beneath the towering copula. Our hotel is across the plaza from the cathedral.
After arriving there were ice packs, massages (who can forget Mitzi the therapists dog waiting for hours on the steps outside) and hot baths. Later we crawled out to dinner on the cathedral plaza. The evening ended with churros and warm chocolate at a lovely little shop just off the plaza. Meanwhile, Lynn is still trying to outsmart the ATM machine.
