This morning we continued following the yellow arrows and scallop shells into the center of Pamplona. We took some time to wander the narrow streets and visit the 14th century gothic cathedral of Santa Maria la Real (St. Mary the Royal) of this charming city. Day 3

Pamplona (22 kms)

This morning we continued following the yellow arrows and scallop shells into the center of Pamplona. We took some time to wander the narrow streets and visit the 14th century gothic cathedral of Santa Maria la Real (St. Mary the Royal) of this charming city. Pamplona is most well-known for the "running of the bulls" during its annual San Fermín celebrations every July.

In the afternoon Judy arranged for a local guide to give us a city tour. Henri Tiberi from Colorado met up with the group for the tour, tapas and dinner. He will walk with group tomorrow before starting to make his way back to the States.

The yellow arrows and scallop shells are the trail markers. They come in a variety of forms: Large signs, small painted arrows, rocks... we're doing our best to stay on course. 4 groups arrived today from 3 directions!
