Camino 2017

Santiago wants his last drop of blood! Our 18 mile walk today is in the rain, paths flooding like streams, cloths if not wet from rain then from sweat. Some appreciate the beauty, others ready to end the agony. It clears, the sun comes out and ultimately our hotel, an old Spanish Pazo awaits Russell Crowe riding in on a stallion. But before that...

Our journey today was through sweet smelling eucalyptus forests that end in Lavacolla, a tiny hamlet only 11 kilometers from our goal. Well positioned so that we may make an early entrance into Santiago tomorrow morning. Lavacolla was an important ceremonial halt for pilgrims in the Middle Ages, who used to wash themselves in the river prior to their entry into the holy city of Santiago.

Bill Kellogg misreads the WhatsApp Duane sent him and rushes in for a beer, which really warned him of bees (which he is allergic to). Mark carries the latern rouge but sweeps Paul along and everyone partakes of a special Paella before bed!
