America on the road

My faux-pas meant missing out Indianapolis, so we headed straight for Saint Louis, Missouri, via Illinois.
We only passed through the bottom of Illinois as we’ll be back soon enough to pick up Karen and Nigel in Chicago though while we were in Illinois I took a moment to be sad that there is no Shermer (John Hughes). In Saint Louis we spent a fair amount of time in the pool, but also checked out the arch and ballpark village - which were both quite spectacular, I’m not sure if i’ll ever be used to the grandiose scale on which americans do sports and monuments, but i like it. On our way from Saint Louis to Kansas City we stopped in some more outlets and I bought myself the most beautiful bag, I love it. When we arrived at Kansas City it was evening time so we stopped by a drive in and caught The Vacation (Ed Helms, Christina Applegate - funny in parts, probably wait till it’s on Sky) where we came across these weirdos who seemed really annoyed about our car being on..in a bloody drive-in.
The next day we soldiered on into Kansas City and to one of the things I've been most looking forward to - Kansas City Public Library. Other than the fact that I love librares, the reason I've been most excited to come here is that the library car park is decorated on the outside to look like a bookshelf, it has 22(ish) titles that are changed periodically, of course the Wizard of Oz was up there but unfortunately we missed Harry Potter, it was still pretty amazing. Didn't i mention the grandiosity! On top of having hands down the coolest car park ever the Kansas City Public Library building used to be a bank, so the architecture inside is wonderful, as well as boasting a film room in what was the vault, super comfy seats too.
