America on the road

Since we were staying in LA for a little while we decided to spend the 4th of July in Marina Del Ray, which is just up the way from Venice Beach.

Since we were staying in LA for a little while we decided to spend the 4th of July in Marina Del Ray, which is just up the way from Venice Beach.
We were both pretty tired so we stayed in bed late and didn't drive to the marina until about 3. After parking up we decided to walk from the marina to Venice beach. It was a bit of a long walk and after a quick stop off for wings (terrible service, no tip for you) we were on the boardwalk. I got to see the

parlour where they filmed tattoos after dark, which was cool, didn't get a new tattoo, really wanted to.
We went to Killer Shrimp to watch the firework display, turns out that a marina what with all the sea fog is not such a good place to watch a firework display, we saw the bottom half of all of them. We enjoyed laughing about how many people had travelled to watch them and how much money had been spent. Also there was an adorable little kid who lost his shit over the fireworks, so we were entertained. Sleep was necessary so we headed back to the hotel, got takeout and watched forensic files on TV. It was a pretty good night.
