Dwayne's European Tour

I like late starts. It's nice just to leisurely get ready and not be in a rush to go anywhere. We headed down to Venice around noon and ate lunch in the Jewish ghetto. We then spent most of the day riding vaporettos.

We caught our first boat over to Murano. They are known for their glass that they make. We got to watch a number of guys making different items out of glass. It was so fascinating and entertaining. Those guys have skills. One guy turned a blob of molten glass into a horse in a matter of minutes. We didn't stay too long, just enough to find a geocache and eat some gelato.

Venice, Murano, Burano

I like late starts. It's nice just to leisurely get ready and not be in a rush to go anywhere. We headed down to Venice around noon and ate lunch in the Jewish ghetto. We then spent most of the day riding vaporettos.

We caught our first boat over to Murano. They are known for their glass that they make. We got to watch a number of guys making different items out of glass. It was so fascinating and entertaining. Those guys have skills. One guy turned a blob of molten glass into a horse in a matter of minutes. We didn't stay too long, just enough to find a geocache and eat some gelato.

Next we were off to Burano. It is about a half hour boat ride from Venice. We only stayed on the island for about 45 minutes as we were losing steam. But it was a very colorful island as all the house are painted bright colors. A great place for pictures.

We then headed back to Venice for dinner. We finished off the night by riding down the Grand canal as the sun was setting. It doesn't sound like much but we were gone for 9 and a half hours.
