Dwayne's European Tour

We definitely caught up on some sleep today. We rolled out of bed quite late and took it it easy for the morning. After lunch we jumped on a bus for a quick ride into Venice. Venice is one of those places that I've always wanted to go because it is so unique.

Unique doesn't even begin to describe it. It was amazing to see so many boats zipping around the waterways. It was cool to see the water come right up to the side of the buildings. We got on a vaporetto and cruised down the Grand canal to the other end, getting off at the Accademia. We probably won't do that again as it was not cheap.

Venice

We definitely caught up on some sleep today. We rolled out of bed quite late and took it it easy for the morning. After lunch we jumped on a bus for a quick ride into Venice. Venice is one of those places that I've always wanted to go because it is so unique.

Unique doesn't even begin to describe it. It was amazing to see so many boats zipping around the waterways. It was cool to see the water come right up to the side of the buildings. It was overcast for the first time today, which made it ideal for walking around. We weren't sweating buckets. We walked around an area where there weren't as many tourists, so it was nice and peaceful. Lots of great opportunities for pictures. Our goal for today was just to get lost in Venice. It was nice not having to be anywhere at a specific time. We ate some gelato, of course, and just wandered aimlessly, admiring the city.

We enjoyed dinner overlooking a huge piazza. Afterwords, we headed back towards the bus station. I think tonight was one of the earliest times we've been home. Time to relax and get ready for an early morning tomorrow.
