Dwayne's European Tour

After some breakfast, we took a stroll over to Tivoli park, which is only about 10 minutes from where we are staying. It is full of paths and is quite large, just a little bigger than Stanley park. The kids played on the playground and loved the zipline. Jen and I took a short walk soaked in the greenery and fresh air. After a time, one not long enough for the kids, we went home for lunch.

After lunch, we were picked up by our tour operator to go to Postojna and Predjma. It is about 45 minutes away from Ljubljana. We first stopped in Postojna where the caves were. That was amazing. It was another world down there. It's awe-inspiring to see different aspects

Ljubljana, Postojna, and Predjma

It's awe-inspiring to see different aspects

of God's creation. The cave is about 24 kms long but we only saw about 5 kms of it. We took a fun train ride down and into the mountain for about two kms then we walked about 1.5 kms before returning to the train. The caves had lights all over them to show all the stalagmites and stalactites. They were beautiful. Words and pictures don't really do it justice to what we were able to see today.

We then drove another 15 minutes to Predjma where there is a very cool castle that is built into the side of mountain. It was interesting to get a tour of this castle and hear some of the stories connected to it. There was once a secret, natural tunnel that went through the mountain and came out on the other side. Now it is blocked off. Too bad.

We had to take a longer route home because of an accident on the highway so that made us get back to town a little later. We were

dropped off in the town center so we could find some dinner. It was 9:30 by the time we finished and so we headed home for bed.
