Dwayne's European Tour

So I've confirmed today that I'm not a big art fan. Today we hit the Uffizi gallery, which is massive, for about two hours. There are literally hundreds of pieces of art, especially from the Renaissance era. It was cool to see some works from Michelangelo, Botticelli, and Rafaello but after awhile it all began to look the same.

After this we made our way over to the Galleria. We had to wait in line for about 45 minutes. This gallery was a bit smaller but the main centerpiece that everyone comes to see is Michelangelo's David. It is pretty great. The other part of this gallery that was interesting were the 800 year old books written in Latin and illuminated with art.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm drawn more to nature or scenery. After that I'd prefer to look at architecture, then sculptures, and finally paintings. To each his own.

We also had a couple cuppas of gelato and we returned to the delicious Trattoria Boboli for another excellent dinner.
