Dwayne's European Tour

Today was a sleep in day...yay! We casually got ready and then caught a couple of buses up to the Borghese museum. We had a two hour time slot to see all of the art inside. Once inside we climbed to the second floor and perused the 16th and 17th century art collection. Nothing really stood out. It was cool how all the ceilings were painted but nothing was spectacular compared to the Vatican. We dropped down to the first floor and much of it was the same. It was perhaps a little brighter with color and not as drab. Plus there were a few more interesting sculptures. Abby loved the different dresses they had on display from the past twenty years. After an hour we were done.

Borghese gallery and Rome

We headed out into the park, which was beautiful and huge. We decided to rent a four person bike contraption for an hour and rode around the park. That was a lot of fun.

From there we walked to the Spanish steps and then to the Trevi fountain. These weren't disappointing just underwhelming. Both were under construction. The steps were, well, just steps. At the Trevi fountain you could still see the beautiful building but the fountain was empty of water and the horses were all covered up.

We did enjoy just walking through all the side streets today. Loved how narrow the streets were and the cobblestone that they were made from. I also really like how there is a fountain every few blocks that you can see people soaking themselves with to keep cool or refilling up their water bottles. We made a lot stops at them today as

it was very hot today.
