Dwayne's European Tour

So we had to say goodbye to Ljubljana. It was a little hard because we all thought it was so wonderful. It is definitely a place I would come back to. We were up pretty early to be able to catch our 9:20am train to Werfenweng. We were able to get in a car that had a private compartment which is awesome. We actually ended up sharing it with a lovely Australian couple, who seemed to have traveled everywhere in the world.

Ljubljana to Werfenweng

So we had to say goodbye to Ljubljana. It was a little hard because we all thought it was so wonderful. It is definitely a place I would come back to. We were up pretty early to be able to catch our 9:20am train to Werfenweng. We were able to get in a car that had a private compartment which is awesome. We actually ended up sharing it with a lovely Australian couple, who seemed to have traveled everywhere in the world.

Between conversation and admiring the scenery the train ride went quite quickly. The scenery was spectacular. It was the most beautiful train ride we've taken yet. The mountains in Slovenia slowly grew

into larger and larger ones by the time we were into Austria. There were so many little villages and towns tucked down in a valley or nestled up on the side of a mountain. It also seemed like every town had their own 'personal' ski lift right up into the mountains. By the time we reached Bischofshofen, where our train stop was, the mountains were towering giants. Oh how I have missed mountains.

We were able to find a small bus that took us right into Werfenweng. From there the tourist information people helped get us to our place where we will be staying. We then walked into the town, which is about 10 minutes away. It seems like all our places are ten minutes away. We picked up our SAMO cards. SAMO is an amazing program they have here that focuses on being eco-friendly. For 40 Euro, we received cards that allow us to do many exciting things in Werfenweng. We can use fun things like scooters, segways, and bikes for free. We can even use a an electric car for the day, which we're

doing tomorrow, for free. It also allows us to take a free shuttle to some of the touristy sights, like the Hohenwerfen castle and even Salzburg.

After driving some fun electric carts around, we ate some dinner. Unfortunately, Josiah was stung by a bee. Since Ljubljana there have been a lot of bees around. Since the grocery store was closed, we couldn't get groceries so we headed to man-made lake, where the kids swam for a bit in the very cold water. On the way home the kids stopped and played at a playground, then we came home and settled in for the night.
