Time for another bucket list item.
Jo managed to organise some tickets for the rugby this afternoon at Twickenham. This has always been on my ‘to do’ list so was a great chance to tick another one off. Time for another bucket list item.
Jo managed to organise some tickets for the rugby this afternoon at Twickenham. This has always been on my ‘to do’ list so was a great chance to tick another one off. Mike, Ben, RB and myself headed out to Twickenham and found the ground. Not hard considering there were 60,000 people there for a club game.
First on the agenda was a visit to the international rugby museum in
the ground which has just been opened. This is a pretty impressive place with all the kit, history and stories. There are a fair few interactives as well where you can test you skills. Learnings from this are Mike is not a bad kicker, Ben clearly has the push in the scrum and leap in the lineout and Mike would not scare anybody in a vertical jumping competition!
From there it was onto lunch. Given the crowd this was pasties and a couple of pints of Guinness. Not complaining and the compulsory photo of the pastie was sent to the Boss for verification. The game was between Leicester and Bath. Both non London teams so that makes it even more impressive to get 60,000 at the game. The game
is known as the clash and is obviously a grudge game each year. Crowd was great. Fair to say they play a different type of footy than at home. In the end the better team, Leicester, won. No use hurrying home given the people so a couple of pints and enjoying the crowd followed.
Helens niece, Amber, and her partner live just up the road in Clapham. We met up with them for dinner at GBK. As usual great burgers from them and then home for a well deserved rest.
