Searching for Mike and Joanne - Again
Today was the day Russell (RB), Janet’s dad, arrived from NZ.
He took the direct route with Emirates from NZ which is 16 ½ hours to Dubai and after a short transit another 6 ½ hours to London. Not an easy exercise.
Janet and I headed out to Heathrow mid morning to pick him up. It was a relief when he walked into arrivals and great to see him. Then it was back on the train and after a couple of transfers arrived home mid afternoon.
From there the day was spent unpacking and then heading around to Mike and Jo’s flat which is just around the corner for dinner. This short trip involved a detour to the supermarket for RB to acquire a bottle of whiskey. This will accompany the welcome gift from Ben (an almost full bottle!).
Not long out of bed tonight with exploration of London scheduled to kick off tomorrow.
