Today was a chance to get out of the city and see some of the local countryside.
After a breakfast including a great loaf provided by our host we negotiated the local traffic and headed north along the coast to one of the national parks.
Krka National park is 109 sq/km and hosts 7 major waterfalls. For interest it also contains the 22nd longest river in Croatia! The local wildlife includes bears, wolves, otters, badgers - none of which were seen but we did encounter a (very) small snake.
First up was a steep descent into the valley where we spent 3 or 4 hours wandering through the bush based around the Skradinski buk waterfall. Was pretty spectacular. Made up of 17 waterfalls and 47m high the width is between 200m and

400m depending on how much water is about.
There is a series of hydro power stations based around this waterfall. Another well deserved ice cream followed by a bus trip back up the hill and we were on our way back to Split.
Interesting trip back on the autobahn- happily trucking along at 130km when a major thunder storm dumped on us.
Dinner tonight was at Toto’s, a healthy fast food place on the waterfront. Finished the evening sitting outside enjoying a couple of wines. Very enjoyable.
