Travel day today.
After a very tasty breakfast from the bakery downstairs we packed our bags and stored them in the car.
Off we went on foot to explore the local area. We were only 5 minutes from the main public beach at Split. Slightly different from home but set up for the crowds that flock here over summer. We then wandered through the port area where the ferries operate and into the old town.

Split to London
Travel day today.
After a very tasty breakfast from the bakery downstairs we packed our bags and stored them in the car.
Off we went on foot to explore the local area. We were only 5 minutes from the main public beach at Split. Slightly different from home but set up for the crowds that flock here over summer. We then wandered through the port area where the ferries operate and into the old town.
Split, as with a lot of places in the country, was built around a walled city. Some of the buildings here were started in the 3rd and 4th centuries! We had a wander through the area. Obviously, it is now well set up for tourists with heaps of stalls and food outlets. Final Croatia shopping was done and then we found a great cafe in a square for lunch. Another of the recommended cafes and it didn’t disappoint.
Then into logisitcal mode as we headed out to the airport, dropped the rental and got sorted for our Norwegian flight to Gatwick. All went well with the exception of some kids who spent the whole flight (including as we were on the runway!) running up and down the plane.
Back home on the train and a simple dinner to finish off the trip.
Croatia was outstanding and would highly recommend as a place to visit. We think we were lucky with the time of the year we visited as the big crowds weren't about. It is beautiful and full of fascinating history. Very appreciative of the work Mike and Jo did in sorting this part of the trip.
Back in London and still a few things to knock off on the todo list.
