Today dawned fine if still somewhat brisk. After a relaxed breakfast we got into tour mode.
During our last few visits to London we have used the London Walks company a lot to get our bearings and learn about different parts of the city. Today we started with a walk called Undiscovered London.
The blurb sets this tour up by saying “if you want to see postcard London this is probably not the tour for you”. Meeting at the Bermondsey Tube we set off with our guide exploring the neighbourhood. For those of you who know London we were in the east just off the end of tower bridge. This is where the ports were and hence all the rope makers, warehousing, factories etc. It is also an area that has been worked on to bring social housing up to date. Fantastic history all built around the Thames.
An excellent guide who was passionate about the area. We worked our way back down the Thames over a couple of hours

We worked our way back down the Thames over a couple of hours
to London Bridge where the tour finished.
That meant we were just over the road from Borough Market so that was our location for lunch. Ben had arranged to surprise RB and there was great delight when he tapped him on the shoulder and said ‘hi’. After lunch we switched into the west end to sort some show tickets for later in our visit.
Today was our first show and after a rest we headed back in to the city to go to Les Miserables. This is one of our favourite shows and tonight didn’t disappoint. Great performance all round. RB was pretty impressed overall and especially with the musicians who were outstanding.
Another good busy day in the big city.
