Searching for Mike and Joanne - Again

Today was another moving day as we headed for London.

Given our first series of flights our expectations weren’t high but today was a day it all came together.

After the final Seattle Starbucks breakfast we headed out to the airport for our first surprise where we basically walked straight through security, no taking computers out, no shoes off, no long queues and settled in for our flight to Vancouver. We were on a Delta flight and they did fine.

Arriving in Vancouver we were anticipating going through transfer process we had in San Francisco. In fact it took all of 30 seconds and we were on our way to the lounge. Hospitable staff there made our wait fine and we joined our Air Canada flight to London. Great plane and service made for a comfortable nine hour flight.

Getting a bit worried now, we headed for immigration at Heathrow expecting the worst. 45 seconds later we were picking up our bags which came straight off the belt and heading for our train. After topping up the Oyster cards we negotiated the underground with our bags and a couple of changes to walk up to our AirBnB as our host arrived.

Travel doesn’t work like that very often but we will take it.

Great little flat in Balham. Janet’s dad, RB, is joining us on Tuesday. 500m from station and supermarkets with lots of High St type shops around us. Mike and Jo about 750m away.

After settling in we went for a wander down to Tooting for dinner, walked back home and then slept!

Mike and Jo back from Ireland tomorrow and looking forward to catching up with them.
