Today, we are leaving New York City and traveling 217 miles to Bean Town, Massachusetts, Home of the Red Sox. The gas price was $2.25 per gallon, so in total, we paid $12.19 for gas. The first place we went to visit was the site of the Massacre. Vivi, "Here's some facts: (1) The day before the incident on March 4, 1770 dozens of Bostonians had clashed with British troops at John Gray's Ropewalk in the Fort Hill district. (2) Samuel Adams and Paul Revere used the incident as political propaganda to stir the patriots in the other colonies. (3) The location of the incident was in front of the Customs House on King Street." Vanessa, "Guys, you know what we should do? We should go see a game at Fenway Park." Carlos, "Sounds like fun, let's go!" Next, we went to Fenway Park to see the Red Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays. Our seats came out to $123, but before we took our seat, we got in line to buy our hot dogs. (Luckily, all of our meals on this trip are free, or else, we would have already gone bankrupt.) We finally took our seats and watched the game. Thankfully, the Red Sox came out on top and beat the Rays 2-6. After the game was over, Gaby suggested we go and visit the Old North Church. Gaby, "Here are some interesting facts: (1) The enduring fame of the Old North began on the evening of April 18, 1775, when the church sexton, Robert Newman, and Vestryman Capt. John Pulling, Jr. climbed the steeple and held high two lanterns as a signal from Paul Revere that the British were marching to Lexington and Concord by sea across the Charles River and not by land. This fateful event ignited the American Revolution. (2) Boston's oldest surviving church building and most visited historical site. (3) The King gave the Old North its silver that was used at services and a bible."
After a long day in Boston, we went to our hotel and counted our remaining money. We decided to stay at the Armory Guest House for $75. Today, we spent $234.19, leaving us with a budget of $1,852.92.
